Theresa May drinking tea, Speech & Interview; ENGLAND: London: INT Theresa May MP (Conservative) drinking tea and chatting to Fawcett Society member / Red shoes (worn by May) Theresa May MP (Conservative) speech SOT -Women in politics, I've got five worlds for you, there aren't enough of them; the Britian of the 21st century is very different to the Britian of Millicent Fawcett; we have had a woman Prime Minister, a woman who holds the world record for sailing around the world single-handed; women capable of standing on their own two feet; not ungrateful gripes of a few bitter women; we can be a more equal and fairer society -We cannot pay lip service to the need to elect more women and members of ethnic minorities as Conservative MPs; we need action; throwing away traditional stereotypes; we are in the 21st century & the Tory Party is rejoicing that we have elected a single black member of Parliament; I believe the Conservative Party will do better if it selects more women; women having different experiences to men; women make good MPs, improving standards of debate; reducing conflict; women putting new issues on the agenda; for the sake of politics (the Party) has alienated too many with it's increasingly and excessively male personality EXT Theresa May MP (Conservative) interview SOT -If you look at the Conservative party, you see it is predominantly white and male; need to show we represent the whole of the country; at the last election it was eveident that people liked our policies but didn't like us; male MPs in my party need to think about the evidence of the elections, been losing the women's vote; not going to be able to survive over the next century; talks about the new Tory leadership
