Assad regime forces deployed near French company Lafarge's facility in Syria
ALEPPO, SYRIA - SEPTEMBER 7: The forces of the Bashar al-Assad regime were deployed at several points about three kilometers east of the facility of the French company Lafarge in Syria.
A year has passed since Anadolu Agency obtained documents revealing that France's intelligence agencies were fully aware of ties between the Daesh/ISIS terror group and French cement giant Lafarge.
Despite this fact, local sources says the facility, located about 20 kilometers from the Turkish border, is used as a base by US forces.
Nearly 60 American soldiers were deployed at the facility near the town of Jalabiya, which has been occupied by the terrorist organization YPG/PKK in the northeast of Aleppo.
The facility, owned by the French company Lafarge, has armored vehicles and heavy weapons belonging to the US-led coalition forces.
After Türkiye announced its plan to eliminate all terrorist organizations, including Daesh/ISIS and YPG/PKK, in the region with a new military operation, the Assad regime quickly started new relations and alliances with some groups in the region with the encouragement of Russia.
According to the local sources, the regime started to cooperate with terrorist groups that Türkiye plans to eliminate in the region.
In this context, regime forces have been deployed approximately three kilometers east of the facility in Jalabiya since the end of July.
There are currently 300 to 400 regime soldiers, tanks, heavy weapons and armored vehicles in the region.
Ahead of a decision by a French court on Sept. 7 last year, which paved the way for Lafarge to be indicted for "complicity in crimes against humanity" in Syria, Anadolu Agency published the documents belonging to the French intelligence.
The documents showed that French intelligence agencies used Lafarge's network of relations, its cooperation with terror groups in Syria, and its contacts to maintain its operations and get news from the region.(Footage by Omar Aldiri /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
