Senator Cornyn says Justice Department, Congress capable of Trump Russia investigation

Texas Senator John Cornyn agrees with a preceding Senator that it is their responsibility to get to the bottom of Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election as they had friends using a combination of active measures, espionage, propaganda, social media, paid trolls in mainstream media through which disinformation is accepted in democratic debate. Cornyn notes that he and California Senator Dianne Feinstein each sit on the Judiciary and Intelligence committees, she stated no evidence of collusion between the Trump administration and Russia, that the Intelligence Committee has unprecedented access to raw intelligence and remained bipartisan throughout its investigation. Cornyn says there needs to be a program of countermeasures to deal with the Russian government, tamping up their game, that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is the only nominee of President Donald Trump to enjoy broad bipartisan support and because of his distinguished record should be given a chance to demonstrate that he can lead an investigation at the Department of Justice. Understanding the role of Congress is not to pursue a criminal case. Cornyn says Congress, but to the bottom of what happened and he is confident they will, being their duty to get the job done.
