Schwarzenegger arrival at number 10 / Blair and Schwarzenegger press conference / Photocall / Press conference cutaways; Arnold Schwarzenegger (Governor of California) press conference SOT - Thank you very much Prime Minister Blair for the wonderful invitation and making me gain five pounds with a delicious British breakfast / Want to thank you for helping us so much last year because we were at a very critical stage / The Prime Minister came to California last year and we had a Round Table discussion with the business leaders and had an environmental summit - What was great about it was that he had invited to the summit Democrats and Republicans which is important because with both parties you can fix anything, accomplish anything / We were literally a few weeks away from passing a law to roll back our greenhouse gases and there was a debate should we have cap or should we have cap and trade / I wanted cap and trade but there were some people who wanted just the cap / I think that the prime minister being there and showing great leadership bringing everyone together we were able to, a few weeks later, to pass the law having a cap and trade just like in Great Britain which was kind of our model - He's done an extraordinary job and inspired everyone in California to go in that direction because of your visit there we were able to pass that law and be really aggressive about rolling back the greenhouse gases to the 1990 level and of course Great Britain is way beyond that / You are 9 or 10 per cent below the 1990 level - I think that the prime minister has shown such great leadership since 1997 in joining the Kyoto Treaty and having proven to the world that you can do both - protect the environment and the economy / That's the direction we want to go / Think that we have made tremendous progress - I also want to take this opportunity and just say to the prime minister to thank him for his great leadership shown over the last ten years because I think that wha...
