Gordon Brown speech at National Policy Forum; - Thanks Margaret Curran (Glasgow East by-election candidate) / she fought an excellent campaign/ talked to her this morning, she is determined to keep putting the message - But she like me understands and hears the concerns of people today - coming from ordinary families as we do and have done, we know what its like when people go to the supermarket and find that the price of mild and bread and eggs have gone up - If you go to the petrol station and you're filling up your tank you know what its like when you have to pay more for the petrol that you need to do your driving - We understand and hear people's concerns - Global issue but we know that our role is to be on the side of hardworking families/ we stand for fairness to hardworking families in Britain - that is why for pensioners we are going to increase winter allowance/ thats why we are helping people with utility bills/ tax cuts over next few months/ giving local authorities power to set up companies to build houses/ giving housing associations power to buy houses that are unsold on the housing market
