Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a French commune located in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence rises on a rocky spur located between the Alps and the Mediterranean, to the west of which flows the Malvan, a tributary of the Cagne. The ramparts: built on the order of François I as a response to the citadel of Nice, from 1544 to 1547, they have hardly suffered any alteration. It is one of the first bastioned fortifications built in France.
