José Manuel García-Margallo receives the Portuguese Grand Cross of the Order of Merit

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Augusto Santos Silva, decorates Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel García-Margallo with the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit. This award, assigned by the then President of the Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, it is a recognition of the significant contribution of the Minister García-Margallo for strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Before the award ceremony, the two ministers meet for working meeting followed by lunch, which will address bilateral topics common interest, cooperation within the European Union and the main challenges that currently pose to the international community.
