Kirkuk-Baniyas Oil Pipeline
The final joint is welded and technicians who have shared the job of laying the enormous 30-inch Kirkuk-Baniyas IPC (Iraq Petroleum Company) pipeline between the North Iraq oilfield of Kirkuk and the Mediterranean, shake hands across it, 50 miles south west of Kirkuk, Iraq. The first 15,000 ton load of crude oil pumped through it has been taken on board the tanker 'Barren Hill' at Baniyas, after crossing 556 miles of desert.
