A Sri Lankan Navy soldier stands guard on the coast at Bopitiya, near the town of Negombo, 17 June 2006 after two frogmen tried to commit suicide by taking cyanide, the trade mark of Tamil Tiger rebels. Sri lankan authorities believe that the frogmen were from a Tamil rebel boat that was on mission to carry out an attack but misfired off the north-western coast of Sri Lanka. At least six Sri Lankan naval troops and 25 Tamil Tiger rebels were killed in a major sea battle off the island's northwestern coast 17 June, the defence ministry said.
