Security authorities were alerted against chemical weapons terrorist attacks during the Daegu World Students Games from an intelligence tip that the game sites were among possible targets by Islamic extremist groups. Security surveillance has been intensified around North Korean team accommodation facilities, especially against suspicious substances.
