Ship Diorama

Ship Diorama, Three-dimensional representation in recessed picture frame, a so-called ship-in-the-cabinet or ship diorama. Nocturnal scene of a sailing ship in a stormy sea with waves with whitecaps and surrounded by some seagulls. The rigged three-master of 40 pieces, sailing from right to left, flies the Dutch flag. All of the ship's sails are reefed. Ten crew members can be seen on board. The skeg image is a man in a blue uniform holding a saber in his right hand. On the stern a galley and on the stern a crowned W as a monogram.
