Built in 1970 by some guy with city bonds, who backed out after the home was built. The city took it over. The homes director, Mr. Werner has been there 19 years. The home was given 37 of a possible 40 stars in the Nursing Home Report Card, the highest in Minnesota. Parkview, rated first on the list, they received the maximum five stars for: Resident survey of quality of life; quality of care indicators (how well the home helps people with physical care); staff turnover; staff retention and State inspections. They got four stars for hours of direct care per resident per day; and three stars for proportion of single-bed rooms.
