Both Reed and friend-associate Michaela McCollum, nicknamed as the Peru Two by their homeland press, faced up to 15 years in prison after being caught attempting to board a flight to Spain with cocaine concealed in their luggage, but struck a behind-closed-doors plea bargain to secure a shorter sentence.
