Photo dated July 17, 2007 shows scientist Norman Borlaug speaking during a ceremony at the US Capitol in Washington, DC. Borlaug, a Nobel Prize-winning scientist whose work on disease-resistant wheat is credited with saving hundreds of millions of lives, died late September 12, 2009 at the age of 95. The acclaimed agriculturalist, often credited with sparking the Green Revolution, died in Dallas, Texas, due to complications from cancer, according to Texas A&M University, where Borlaug served since 1984. Borlaug won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for creating varieties of wheat that were resistant to disease and doubled and tripled yields in developing countries.
