The Hand of Time : Maria blyzinsky, the Curator of Astronomy at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, indicates the route of the Greenwich Meridian as it will appear on a series of detailed Ordnance Survey Explorer maps. The photograph was taken on the famous brass "time line" at the Observatory in Greenwich, but the 17 maps will allow people to celebrate the start of the new millennium at any point along the meridian as it runs through Britain, Yorkshire and Sussex. 08/10/04: More than 200,000 children may miss out on getting free maps of their home areas worth 7 each because their teachers have not ordered them, it has been revealed.
