Former Moroccan interior minister Driss

PARIS, FRANCE: Former Moroccan interior minister Driss Basri is pictured in Paris, 29 December 2004. Basri was minister of the interior for nearly a quarter of a century but was fired on 9 November by the new Moroccan Monarch Mohammed VI. Basri was regarded as the weapon Hassan II unleashed against civil society and political activism and was accused by former opposition parties of hindering the country's steps on the road to the rule of law and accountability. He lives now in France without any legal documents. AFP PHOTO ABDELHAK SENNA (Photo credit should read ABDELHAK SENNA/AFP via Getty Images)
