Giants Favorites Posing for Fun

(Original Caption) Don Mueller, (L) and Willie Mays, of the New York Giants wave nine fingers over Sal (The Barber) Maglie's head to indicate Maglie's ninth straight victory, May 27, after they combined with Sal to lather the Brooklyn Dodgers 3-0. The Giants' night game win puts them 1 1/2 games in front of the Dodgers and in first place in the National League. Mueller connected for a four bagger in the second inning and Mays pounded a homer in the fourth, to bat. It was the second time Maglie blanked the Dodgers this season, and it brought the Giants up to six straight wins. Mays is slated to enter the Armed forces, May 29th, and will play his last game when the Giants end their three game series with the Dodgers at Ebbets Field, on May 28th.
