LIUKU, YUNNAN, CHINA - 2004/04/17: A bridge over the Nujiang river, constructed in the 1960s, is the only access for local people living across the river to the weekly bazaar, and a perfect place to sell as well. The Lisu Autonomous Prefecture of Nujiang, located in the northwest of Yunnan province near Tibet, has remained isolated from the outside world for many years because of difficult transportation. But the controversy on whether a huge dam should be constructed on the Nujiang River aroused great interest for the region, and more and more people are travelling to this mysterious and charming place.
