IDF Admits To Accidental Killing Of Three Hostages In Gaza
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - DECEMBER 16: US actor Michael Rapaport poses with family and friends of people held hostage during a rally with the families of hostages and their supporters outside The Museum of Art known as the 'The Hostages and Missing Square' on December 16, 2023 in Tel Aviv, Israel. On Friday, the IDF said its forces accidentally killed three hostages being held in Gaza when it mistakenly identified them as potential threats. Yotam Haim, Samer Talalka, Alon Shamriz were kidnapped from southern Israel on Oct. 7 by Hamas militants and taken back to the Gaza Strip. Israel launched an air and ground campaign in Gaza soon thereafter in an effort to defeat Hamas; in November, a weeklong ceasefire allowed for the negotiated release of some hostages, but more than 100 remain in captivity.
