ROMANIA-CANADA-GOLD MINING-PROTEST
Protesters tap plastic bottles during the eight day of demonstrations in Bucharest against the Rosia Montana Gold Corporation (RMGC), a Canadian gold mine project using cyanide, September 8, 2013. About 1,500 people marched against a Canadian goldmine project planning to use large amounts of cyanide in the village of Transylvania. "Romania is not for sale" or "United, we will save Rosia Montana," chanted the demonstrators, referring to the village where the Canadian company Gabriel Resources says it discovered the largest gold deposit in Europe.
